REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility to apply for the BIH program or courses include:
- Associates Degree or higher education that include all courses taken and grades received from each program of study
A maximum of 30 semester credits of the Associate degree requirement may be earned through prior learning assessment using either or a combination of the various assessment techniques. Credits will be awarded on the basis of the results of the testing or training per the American Council on Education in the National Guide to Educational Credit for Training Programs and the Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience in the Armed Services.
Individuals applying who do not possess an Associates degree must provide proof of one of the following:
- Official transcript from Military or Corporate training
- The Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) www.CAEL.org credit determination letter
- Official results of standardized test results from standardized testing corporations such as:College Scholarship Service’s AP (Advanced Placement) examinations, the College Scholarship Service’s CLEP (College Level Examination Program) examinations, the American College Testing PEP (Proficiency Examination Program) examinations, the USAFI (U.S. Armed Forces Institute) program, and the DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) tests and/or assignment of credit for military and corporate training based on recommendations established by the American Council on Education.
Students awarded credits from the BIH may not be able to transfer those credits to other institutions.
Admission Process
An application for admission and once accepted, registration into a program or course.
All applicants for any BIH courses are must submit and have verified prerequisite education for admission.
An application must include all of the following:
- A completed and signed application form
- Social Security or Governmental ID number*
- All required education documentation*
- Photo ID documentation
- A letter of intent with reasons for applying to the BIH
- The application fee of $75.00 paid in full with the application
Applicants to the program must be competent in spoken and written English. If the completed application or communication the student has with the school, the applicant’s English is not sufficient to successfully complete the program the applicant must submit scores of at least 500 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and at least the currently reported mean score on the Test of Spoken English (TSE) to be admitted to the Professional Practitioner Program.
