Professional Homeopathic Practitioner Program
WAYS TO STUDY HOMEOPATHY WITH THE BRITISH INSTITUTE
AT YOUR OWN PACE:
This program is for the self starter or for those
students who wish to do a FULL TIME PROGRAM as well as
for those students who’s busy lives require flexibility
in their studies.
All Lessons are on our Learning Management System,
can be completed on ‘line’. Lessons consist of our
Professional Program Courses, a working professional
homeopath for an instructor, written lessons, video
lectures and supports, assignments, quizzes and exams.
The students may progress at their own pace, they may take
their time or go as quickly as they wish.
(note: an 80% GPI is required to progress)
LIVE ONLINE PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM:
Students can choose from a full time 3 year program, or a 6 year part time program.
Year 1
First Semester:
Foundations I – 15 weeks: 13 Lessons – weekly live classes over
Zoom; written lessons; 7 Assignments, 6 Quizes; a midterm and Final
Exam (60 study hours)
Materia Medica I – 15 weeks 14 assignments – weekly live
classes over Zoom; Final Exam (45 study hours)
(Semester one = 105 study hours)
Year 1 Second Semester:
Foundations II – 15 weeks: 13 Lessons weekly live classes
over Zoom; – written lessons; weekly live classes; 7 Assignments, 6
Quizes; a midterm and Final Exam (60 study hours)
Materia Medica II – 15 weeks 14 assignments weekly live
classes over Zoom; – Final Exam (45 study hours)
(Semester 2 = 105 Study hours)
Year 2
First semester:
Homeopathy In Practice: 12 Weeks: 11 Lessons (some
extended): weekly live classes over Zoom; – Final Exam (60 study
hours)
Materia Medica III – 15 weeks 14 assignments weekly live classes
over Zoom; – Final Exam (45 study hours)
Year 2
Second semester:
It is recommended that students take clinic along with HIP as it puts
into practice what is learned in this class.
Some students prefer to wait – this will extend their 3 year program
into another 56 months.
Start of Clinical Training: 3 Clinic Weekends (two days each plus 2
clinic recaps ): Live interactive Clinics on Zoom – Real Patients, no
paper cases. Plus Live interactive Clinic Recaps
( 60 observation hours) or Optional if cases are written up properly (72
case taking hours plus 48 observation hours)
(Year 2 Semester 2 + 105 Study Hours for classroom studies)

Year 3
All year:
Clinical Training: 6 Clinic Weekends (two days each plus 2 clinic

(120 observation hours) or Optional if cases are written up properly
(144 case taking hours plus 96 observation hours)
Plus Student Cases: All students will take at the very least 2 cases in
front of their peers. Earn extra case hours
Year 3 Advanced Studies I – 15 weeks: 13 Lessons weekly live
classes over Zoom; – written lessons; weekly live classes; 7
Assignments, 6 Quizes; a midterm and Final Exam (60 study hours)
Materia Medica IV – 15 weeks 14 assignments weekly live
classes over Zoom; – Final Exam (45 study hours)

Year 3 Second Semester:
Advanced Studies II – 15 weeks: 13 Lessons weekly live
classes over Zoom; – written lessons; weekly live classes; 7

Materia Medica V – 15 weeks 14 assignments weekly live
classes over Zoom; – Final Exam (45 study hours)

Total Studies for Three years (500 study hours required)
Year 1 – 210 Study hours
Year 2 – 105 Study hours
Year 3 – 210 Study hours
Total = 520 Study hours
Students have the option to start clinical training halfway through Foundations. Or they can start during Homeopathy in Practice. Attending clinic allows you to work on your observation hours early. When the student is ready they can start writing up cases for the clinic to obtain Case Taking Hours. Case Taking hours depend on how well written the case is, up to 10 hours per case
Clinical Training Study hours Required 500 hours: 250 CT; 250
observation (extra CT hours can be used for observation.

Note student present two case at clinic + 24 CT hours
Total potential: 312 CT hours and 196 Observation hours
Elective Courses
Aside from the Professional Practitioner Program, BIH offers other programs and courses. Other programs and courses are inter-related to homeopathy education, be it as your field of specialization or an elective to integrate in your practice. Each course in the programs is a “stand alone” registration and can be completed without enrolling to the next course, however, BIH encourage you to complete the whole program.
